Therefore, take a look at this post about the Mistakes While Booking Hotels that people make to save yourself from them.

Mistakes While Booking Hotels That You Must Avoid

1. Getting lured by heavy discounts and booking in a hurry

Found rates that are very cheap? Are some too good to be true deals? Stop for a while! Ask yourself first if this is the kind of room you want. Check out why and how the hotel can offer such a deal. Many times, these deals have hidden behind them some hidden facts that are not worth compromising. For instance, it can be a lack of security or lack of hygienic facilities or water. Get information about all of these before you put your hard-earned money in it.

2. Not Asking For All The Information About The Room

Mistakes While Booking Hotels

It is always better to be informed when you are the consumer of anything. For instance, when you book a hotel room you are paying for the service. In that case, it is always preferable that you have all the information regarding the hotel, rooms and their services. Also, by doing this you eliminate the chances of regretting later.

Do not go at the face value of the beautiful pictures posted on their website. Take up efforts to call them personally and ask about all the things that you might need in your hotel room.

3. Booking Hotels Without Cancellation Policies

Mistakes While Booking Hotels

It is good to keep your options ready. Often, when the hotel offers good discounts we forget to check other things. Having an option of Cancellation in place may come handy if by chance there are any last moment modifications in your trip or in times of trip cancellation. Therefore, it is important that you make a note of this before booking your hotel.

4. Not Knowing About The Food Options Available At The Hotel

Different people have different food preferences. Therefore, it is important to consider your food taste and then book a hotel according to that.

5. Not asking for professional assistance

Mistakes While Booking Hotels

We all know a lot of people around. However, we usually don’t ask them for their advice before planning our trips and itineraries.  Seek their advice before planning your trip, spots of sightseeing and budgeting. It is a known fact that these professional travelers will help you save a lot of bucks.

6. Not paying attention to the check-in and check-out timings

Hotels have their regulations about the check-ins and check out times. It is important to take a note of it. Usually, the check out timings and the timing of your flights or buses do not match. That is when the real problem arises. What will you do for the hours between?

Therefore, you must take note if there is any waiting system in the hotel and if they provide pick up and drop.

7. Booking From Lesser-Known Websites

It is advisable to do bookings from reputed sites so that there are no discrepancies.

8. Doing mistakes while giving the arrival and departure dates

Not many people do such a mistake. However, it so happens that sometimes in rush or while being busy in some other work we mistype or put in the wrong details.

9.  Not comparing the prices

Many a time we end up losing money just because of inadequate research. Therefore, one must compare prices of the same hotel across websites and also of the hotel with other websites. You might get the same room for much cheaper rates and can use that money for travel.

10.  Not checking the customer reviews

What the hotel shows us is one thing and what the customers feel is different. The world is a collection of subjective experiences. Therefore, it is important to check different reviews about the place you wish to book your room at. Prefer those hotels that have a higher rating.

Now that you know all the Mistakes While Booking Hotels, make sure you don’t fall for them.

Strange Places In The World: Human Entry Prohibited

Published

on

In spite of globalization, technology, and advances in transportation, there are some strange places which prohibit the entry of humans. While some of us are fixated on space exploration and colonizing Mars, the truth is that some parts of our planet are still practically untouched or have even been forgotten. Other areas are home to military bases, espionage secrets, or have even forbidden to the public on the grounds that they’re “legally haunted”. These forbidden places will blow your mind due to their weird past or some idiosyncratic secret.

Some of the strange places are:

 Poveglia Island, Italy

https://www.amusingplanet.com/

Poveglia is a small island located between Venice and Lido in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy.  Initially, used as a quarantine station for those suffering the plague and other diseases, and later as a mental hospital. Because of this, the island is frequently featured on paranormal shows. The mental hospital closed in 1968, and the island has been vacant since. Visits to the island are prohibited, but various books and articles discuss visits by a writer and/or photographer. One of the latter described a place of “peace and serenity.”

Snake Island, Brazil

pinterest

The mysterious island is known as Ilha da Queimada Grande, and it is so dangerous to set foot there that Brazil has made it illegal for anyone to visit. The danger on the island comes in the form of the golden lancehead snakes – a species of pit viper and one of the deadliest serpents in the world. The island is small in size, only 43 hectares (106 acres), and has a temperate climate. The island’s terrain varies considerably, ranging from bare rock to rainforest. This strange place is extremely dangerous!

North Senital Garden, India

North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal which also includes South Sentinel Island. It is home to the Sentinelese, an indigenous people in voluntary isolation who have rejected, often violently, any contact with the outside world. They are among the last tribal people to remain virtually untouched by modern civilisation. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Act of 1956 prohibits travel to the island. The area is patrolled by the Indian Navy.

North Brother Island, USA

https://www.businessinsider.in/

Japan is globally popular for its shrine culture and houses approximately 80,000 shrines. The most important among all is the Ise Grand Shrine. It is one of the most expensive temples in Japan due to its architectural grandeur. To maintain the Shinto traditions dating back to the 8th century, this temple is rebuilt every 20 years. And that comes with a million-dollar price tag. Unless you are a member of the royal family, you are forbidden to enter the hallowed halls of this ancient Japanese representation.

Area 51, US

https://www.nytimes.com/

Area 51 in Southern Nevada is always wrapped in conspiracy theories. It is a US military base and has the reputation of being the testing ground for weapons and aircraft. But there is wider speculation about the same. Conspiracy theorists believe that the officials conceal alien evidence at the base. It is totally off-limits to the commoners, and even the USA barely acknowledges the existence of Area 51.

Niihau Island, USA

https://www.sickchirpse.com/

Niihau Island, with a population of 160 inhabitants, is prohibited to the general public. The only way to visit this region is either to be a part of the US Navy or to have a relative on the island. To preserve the environment and wildlife on Niihau Island, the government has restricted the entry to outsiders. No wonder, it is a forbidden place that one cannot reach.

The Story of Bhangarh Fort, India's Most Notorious Haunted Site

via- Culture Trip

Located just 100 miles southwest of Delhi, the lush ruins of Bhangarh Fort make for a curious juxtaposition. To this day, the oasis remains largely uninhabited due to an alleged curse cast by a disgruntled sorcerer after his advances were rebuffed by a local princess.

Built in 1888, this chateau-style hotel sits pretty by the Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park. But it gets a tad more Gothic once you get inside. The Calgary Herald has reported several resident ghosts. One Includes a bride who supposedly fell down the stone staircase during her wedding. But there’s a less tragic spirit, too: Sam the bellman, who worked at the hotel until 1975 and claimed he’d come back to haunt the joint. His spirit supposedly pulls shifts helping people with their bags before disappearing.

Also, The Stanley Hotel leans into its reputation with nightly ghost tours and psychic consultations from the in-house Madame Vera.

In the 17th century, due to overflowing and the poor conditions of the graveyards around the city, the government needed a fast solution to get rid of the piles of corpses. Therefore, Alexandre Lenoir and Thiroux de Crosne came up with the idea to place the bones underground in the now-famous Catacombs de Paris. Later, Louis-Etienne Hericart de Thury saw it as an opportunity to make it a work of art. He arranged the skulls and bones on the walls to create the scene today. It is said that the spirits of the dead haunt the catacombs and have even been caught on tape.
