International Airlines That Have Resumed Air Travel
Although the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevalent in many parts of the world, normal life activities are pretty much back on track. Of Course that comes a twist of how we do it, be it wearing masks or rubbing some sanitizer every hour or so. With several countries gradually opening their air space and lifting lockdown restrictions, ‘non-essential’ travel is slowly gaining momentum. Major airlines ramp up their services in time for the peak holiday season. However, most countries still have border closures and travel bans in place.
Borders across Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, and some Pacific island nations have begun to reopen to non-essential travel even though many countries across Africa and South America are in lockdown. US border closures remain in place with Europe, Mexico, and Canada. Moreover, in order to kick-start tourism and help economies rebound, governments are implementing travel bubbles or air bridges between countries. This allows citizens to travel freely between specified nations. India has implemented a temporary reciprocal arrangement with the US, Germany and France and more countries like the UK and Canada will soon be added to the list.
The airlines that are all set to fly you are:
Chicago-based carrier United Airlines is going to resume service on more than 25 international routes in September 2020. It plans to fly 37 percent of its overall schedule in September as compared to the same period last year. United plans to resume service between Houston and Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Aguascalientes, Tampico, Veracruz and Costa Rica soon too.
It will soon operate from London, Paris and Sydney to Tehran, Guangzhou, Addis, Oslo, Philippines and India. The company is planning to ramp up long-haul operations, Emirates has decided to expand its passenger network to 62 destinations in August. On August 1, Emirates became the first commercial passenger flight to fly to Seychelles since March. The carrier is also planning to increase its services to the Maldives in August.
It soon flies from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to 58 destinations including several in India. Abu Dhabi’s state-owned carrier Etihad Airways will resume international flights from Abu Dhabi to 58 destinations in August, aiming to operate at about 45 percent of its pre coronavirus capacity this month. In June-July the airline was operating to 29 destinations.
It has begun its operations from Frankfurt and New York to Germany and other destinations in Europe, repatriation flights to India. Lufthansa has announced that it planned to operate more than 70 per cent of its long-haul routes by the end of October and 90 percent of all short- and medium-haul flights. It plans to fly to 130 destinations worldwide, with more than 2,000 flights weekly by October.
This company has been operating repatriation flights to India. British Airways, which had started skeletal operations in July to a few Caribbean nations and Dubai, is expected to resume flights to Russia and Pakistan this month. The first flight will land in Islamabad on August 14. Soon we will have many more flights flying.

4 Movies To Awaken The Inner Environmentalist In You
With the news of mishaps happening one after another, like a savage pandemic like Covid-19, Assam floods, a series of frightening earthquakes, this is a chance to awaken the inner environmentalist within ourselves. When too many things go wrong, we start looking for solutions. That is when movies become a source of light at the end of the tunnel.
Ricciotto Canud was an Italian film theoretician who labelled cinema as the Seventh Art among other arts. This value attached to cinema clearly explains the need for movies to evoke the much-needed environment consciousness. These 4 movies are a source to awaken the inner environmentalist within you:
The trailer takes you through our fast-paced lives ignoring the facets of destruction we cause each step we take. Released in 1982, this movie was directed by Godfrey Reggio, this film took us on an unasked, epic, wordless exploration of the Hopi phrase Koyaanisqatsi, which roughly translates as life out of balance or order. Initially, the film may seem tedious and too stretchy, but once you get into the zone of the meditational, patient journey of our environment, you will find focus and dedication. It achieves the dichotomy between the imagery of nature among the modern-day megapolis.
It’s been 70 years since Bambi was released. For an animation film, it was too brutal to traumatize children with the scariest hunting expedition in movie history. Yet unquestionably, Bambi has altered the landscape of wildlife protection and made people more conscious. The tale of Bambi and his friends continues to touch people’s life to pay homage to the character. Luckily, The Bambi Effect was a special interest put into place among the public for the protection of animals. Nevertheless, the simple animations were enough to awaken the inner environmentalist.
Erin Brockovich (2000)
With Julia Roberts as the star lead, this movie is underrated for an environment film. This is a rare and unheard, unseen example of an environmental film. Owing to a great script and an incomparable performance by Julia Roberts, the story was brilliant and smashed the box office as millions of moviegoers were scarcely aware they were watching a piece of environmental advocacy. We need more films around the malpractices of big and evil corporations polluting local water supplies by their money-minting mindsets.
Walt Disney managed to portray an apocalyptic future dominated by endless landscapes of garbage completely devoid of life (ironically, the people are the ones who cluttered all the garbage at first). The message was muted, which was so because a robot seems to convey a message but his language is still too alien to us. This is symbolic of the way how nature tries to communicate with us in her rage but we methodology ignore the subtle messages. What remains is decay with no sign of life. WALL-E is amazing, visionary, hilarious, sad and an eye-opener and one must watch it consciously to find the hidden messages.
Interesting Facts About Taj Mahal In Agra
Historical sites in India are also beautiful and worth visiting. Yet the most stunning of all is the Taj Mahal. The Taj is one of the Wonders of the World, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and emblem of an Emperor’s everlasting love for his beloved Princess. Indians have a never-ending love saga with Taj Mahal as it is one of the most beautiful monuments in the country. Also, it represents the eternal love of an emperor.
If you are traveling to Agra in India, Taj Mahal deserves your visit once and more.
Below are a few interesting things about The Taj.
1. Reflecting Pool
The Taj Mahal was built in Agra by Mogul emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his favorite wife, who died at birth in 1631. It took more than 15 years to create the white marble monument, with its vast gardens.
On a square plinth, the white marble frame is surrounded by four-cornered minarets. The chamber houses the falsified Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal sarcophagi. Every minaret has an altitude of over 40 metres.
2. Among the Yamuna River
The mausoleum, mosque, and jawab are located on the riverfront terrace. The mosque and jawab on either side of the mausoleum are almost similar structures. These contribute to the Taj Mahal’s magnificence.
The Taj Mahal is a familiar sight for the 1.2 million people living in Modern Agra. It lies on the south bank of the river Yamuna, a tributary of the holy Ganges.
3. The Minarets
The opulent, domed mausoleum, which stands in formal walled gardens, is commonly considered the finest example of Mogul architecture and sculpture. It has four minarets, each of which is more than 13 stories tall.
Taj Mahal is also referred to as the “Crown of Palaces,” a magnificent building by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. He had it installed in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
4. Taj Mahal Mosque
In addition, the Taj Mahal complex comprises a red sandstone mosque and an assembly hall. Smaller mausoleums still exist for other wives of the emperor.
The Taj Mahal is much more than a mausoleum with a white-dome. It is a complex with many tombs, ‘Mumtazabad’ small town, a moonlight garden, and other structures spread over 22.44 hectares.
5. Symbol of Love
The Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore called the Taj Mahal a “teardrop on the cheek of time.” Shah Jahan’s staff had to complete the principal mausoleum for more than 15 years. It is there that the emperor and his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, are both buried.
More than 1,000 elephants are said to have been used to move the building material. Moreover, 20,000 workers contributed to this massive project as well. Although, building this beautiful monument which relies in the heart of many people was tough but worth!
