Indian Prints That Will Make You Look Awesome!

Indian prints, all in India and abroad will agree, are truly aesthetic and delight to the eye. There is a different pride in wearing them and flaunting them. In this post, with immense pride, I take the pleasure of introducing and reintroducing to the readers the prints that rock our outfits.

All of these are conceived from the hard work and fine craftsmanship. Many hands work tirelessly to promote local industries and the Indian craft. The wide variety of these prints ranges. For instance, abstract prints, floral prints, geometrical shapes to animal designs.

The famous bandhani prints are one of the most well known Indian prints. They are a colorful gift from the colorful state of Gujarat. The beautiful word, Bandhani, finds its roots in the Sanskrit word ‘bandha’ which means ‘to tie’. The colorful textile is alive around from the time of Indus Valley Civilization. Above all, the cloth is called Bandhani because it is decorated by plucking the cloth in a particular way by a fingernail. It is done in such a way that we get many bindings that form a design.  It is typical characteristic are dots, stripes, waves or squares.

In addition to Bandhani, another of the famous Indian Prints that is a gift by the state of Gujarat. One finds these designs on cotton, silk or on blends. It is a double Ikat weave. The making of a Patola is a tiring and skilful process. Each thread separately goes under the process of dying and weaving by hand to acquire the desired design.

WHO DO I DESIGN FOR? When I design I always have an image in head. I see independent women who are sure of themselves and very comfortable with their body. I see someone who is not bothered about trends or follows celebrities or magazines to decide what becomes a part of their wardrobe. I visualise women who are fierce but at the same time very feminine, I see women who are confident and unaffected with opinions people may have of them . I see someone who has a soul, someone who is not scared to tell their story. I see women who know how to have a good time and laugh loudly without worrying about how their pictures will come out. When I design I see my aunts and mum having fun at a wedding, I see you. I see love. Is there a bit of them in you? ❤️ #sarees,#saris,#indianclothes,#womenwear, #anarkalis, #lengha, #ethnicwear, #fashion, #ayushkejriwal,#Bollywood, #vogue, #indiandesigners ,#handmade, #designerayushkejriwal , #ayushkejriwalpatolas , #desibride, #bollywoodfashion, #style ,#indianbeauty, #patolasarees , #instafashion, #lakmefashionweek, #indiancouture, #londonshopping, #bridal, #kalamkari ,#madeinindia ,#weddingideas,#ajhrakh,#handloom

Spotted wearing BATIK #clientdiaries

A post shared by BATIK (@batikofficial) on

Batik is a famous tie and dye technique which is an alive tradition since the past 2000 years. What really attracts the eye is the vibrancy of colors that Batic cloth uses. Batic designs are derived themselves mainly from nature with the floral pattern being the most common.

Kalamkari means the art of drawing with the help of a pen. However, this art form is special because it comes down as a form of expression by musicians, artists and storytellers in old times. It was their medium, through which they could keep alive their narratives. It uses natural colors made from natural products.

Bagru Print

The Bagru print comes from the Chippa community of Rajasthan. It is a style of block printing. What it promises to one are elegance and simplicity.

Fashion Trends That Are Coming Back In 2020

Fashion trends always works in cycles. Partly because tastes change, and partly because every generation draws on aesthetic inspiration from past generations, fads come and go.

There are lots of fashions we all bet we’d never see again in stores, but today they are back to prove us wrong and show us just how cute and relevant they can be again. Here are some fashion trends that were too good to be put to rest and are making a comeback today in 2020.

 1. Plaids

A post shared by Alia ☀️ (@aliaabhatt) on

Long live grunge. The iconic early 90s style is making a comeback in bold plaids. Both guys and gals can get into this one, and you get extra points if the plaid is flannel. Apparently the muted and minimalist tones of grays, browns, and taupes are being tossed to the wayside for loud colors and fun prints. For a pattern, plaid has been remarkably successful. It’s one of the most widespread, recognizable and ubiquitous designs in the world, coming in almost every color and shade under the sun. In recent years, however, plaid has had such a strong resurgence that in some places you would be hard-pressed to look around and not see at least one person wearing checked plaid.

2. Wide Leg Pants

We’ve seen them come and go in the past few years, but this season wide-leg pants are here to stay. Whether they hit midcalf, ankle, or floor-length, these roomy pants can be worn anywhere from the office to a night out, and are perfect for the girl who’s so over skinny jeans. Whether flared or just billowy, more generously proportioned legs are on the uptick. Otherwise referred to as palazzo pants, these seriously spacious bottoms have been seen on the streets and runways this spring. Go ahead, try a simple solid-colored pair for a super-polished work look or opt from many other super stylish looks.

3. Choker Necklaces

A choker is a close-fitting necklace worn around the neck. Chokers can be made of a variety of materials, including velvet, plastic, beads, latex, leather, metal, such as silver, gold or platinum etc. Chokers were the de-facto neck accoutrement in the 90s, and everyone wore them. Now they’re making a comeback, though women are still a little slow to jump on the trend. Just about every female pop star sported chokers in the 1900s which added the perfect dose of edginess to the sassy crop-top wearing singers. This accessory is back in stock at all major stores and is bringing the 90s back to life for us all.

4. Ripped Denim

Ripped jeans are denim jeans with tear or rips, often on the knees but possibly in other locations on the pant. They were popular in the late 1980s during the hard rock/heavy metal era and in the 1990s and 2000s during the grunge era. This one makes a comeback every 5-10 years it seems. The humble and everyday denim gets a fashion makeover – patchworked, ruffled, torn and given all sorts of new treatment. In the 80s, every pair of jeans had the knees blown out, and now things are swinging back in that direction. Who doesn’t like a little breeze on your skin when you’re wearing long pants?

5. Round Glasses

A monocle is a type of corrective lens used to correct or enhance the vision in only one eye. It consists of a circular lens, generally with a wire ring around the circumference that can be attached to a string or wire. Circular frames have been creeping back into style slowly but surely for a couple of years now. This trend originated in the 1920s and made a comeback in the 70s largely due to the influence of folks like John Lennon and Janis Joplin. In 2019 we are seeing them again, and it’s a delightful blast from the past.

6. Scrunchies

Tight, elastic hair bands are starting to be swapped out for a softer, more delicate option from the past – scrunchies! Scrunchies are back and seem to be a hit among celebrities and the masses, and for good reason! These hair ties are much better for your hair health than elastic hair bands. They create less friction and breakage on hair and are less likely to leave bends in hair from being tied up. Plus, they’re back in style! It’s a win-win.

7. Psychedelic Florals

Sure, classic and feminine is still cool, but for 2020, the floral print is getting a small makeover. Options will be full of bright, vibrant colors and appear more abstract, giving outfits a groovy little twist. You can’t really go wrong with a floral accent or two in a room. They are beautiful and feminine instead of bold and gaudy.  Additionally, it is youthful and timeless in its elegance. The classic print has again taken center stage this year. It has become ever more modern and elegant, with such cool, vibrant colours. Don’t be afraid to try something new this spring and start wearing the floral print.

8. Exaggerated Collars

Exaggerated and feminine collars, which hark back to another trend of the 1960s and 1970s, are poised to make a major comeback. The trend was on show on the runways of Spring/Summer 2020 Fashion Week this past fall, and the look is already beginning to pop up in street style looks. Every so often, different collar styles are added into the rotation (remember the child-like Peter Pan look of 2010?). This year’s version is long and pointy, and will no doubt give ensembles a little something extra when layered under blazers and sweaters. This is going to the most favorite among the fashion trends for sure.
