We all know that a woman is recommended to rest thoroughly while she is on her period. However, there are other precautions that a woman must take, which means things one must avoid in your period. That is the food intake aka her diet. Yes, diet plays an important role while you are on your menstrual cycle.

Well, the number one category of food to avoid is carbonated drinks or cold drinks as we call them. They can block the healthy flow of blood and come in between the cycle.

Processed Food

No matter how much hurry you are in, try to eat only fresh vegetables and fruits during your period. This means, totally avoiding the processed food category. So, say no to shortcuts for some time!

Yes, we all know it is harmful to our health yet we all just love it! Whether it is fried chicken or some crispy potato wedges, can you ignore fried food? We know the answer is NO, however you must avoid it while on your period.

Kidney beans, pulses, and other legumes should be avoided during your period. You must go for fresh, green and leafy vegetables during your menstrual cycle as they also lighten up your mood.

Refined Grains

Portions of pasta, doughs and bread are a no-no during those five important days. Go for some fruits and protein which help you boost your immunity and metabolism and you do not feel weak.

High Fat Food

Well, yes, high-fat food or in other words what children and mostly asked to stay away from- JUNK FOOD. Your menstrual cycle can go on a wild ride if too many fats and oil go into the system during the cycle.

So, these were the few things which you should stay away from during your cycle. They will not only affect your blood flow but also affect your mood swings, immunity and metabolism. You should go for food which makes you feel fresh, energetic and strong such as kale, oranges, bananas, watermelon, broccoli, dark chocolate, and fresh juices or coconut water.
